Steady growth at IglooDoors®
As expected, 2018 has shown a growth in production in our IglooDoors® subsidiary. To meet customer demand, we have been manufacturing IDH and IDS doors at an ever-increasing rate since the beginning of last year. The total number of pre-ordered and manufactured doors was around 1000 pieces with an increase of about 15% compared to the previous year. Each walk-in cooler door was manufactured in a custom size, with an average production time of 2 to 3 weeks. Interestingly, the number of IglooDoors® IDS sliding doors led to an increase of 36% within the quantity produced, which we are particularly pleased with, since IDS sliding doors generally have a larger opening size than hinged doors, hence their production and manufacturing is more challenging.
We strive to export beside keeping domestic sales high. Last year we delivered cold room doors to Kenya, Cyprus, Slovakia, Romania, Austria, Denmark and to the United Arab Emirates among others. The expansion of our export business continues to be a major goal in our company.
Keeping up with technology
In 2018, we installed two pieces of new equipment, including an Emmi SCA cutter and Emmegi Copia machine, facilitating our profile cutting process by making it faster and more precise. Thanks to our new equipment, our production of cold room doors has not only become faster, but also more flexible, achieving a 10-12% increase in efficiency in production cycle times.
In a leading role on the Hungarian market for 7 years
Since the creation of the IglooDoors® brand, we have manufactured more than 5000 walk-in cooler and freezer doors, which makes us a key player on the Hungarian market. We are constantly striving to meet demands of the market by keeping our standards high, and we hope to attract more potential customers by focusing on continuous improvement. Our goal is to cover the Hungarian market with IglooDoors® cold room doors by providing a comprehensive service including installation, maintenance and component reorder which often must be imported from abroad.
Top achievements in 2018
The year 2018 has brought many exciting projects. The most noteworthy are delivering cold room doors to the new futuristic McDonald’s restaurant in Gyöngyös and creating an extreme climate chamber for AUDI Hungary in Győr which can induce dramatic temperature changes in a very short time. In addition to our export efforts, we are proud to live up to such challenges on the Hungarian market.
